I am honored to have the opportunity to participate in the "Jilin University - Cambridge University - Imperial College Academic Literacy Enhancement Workshop" program. Through the 7-week program, I have acquired skills related to academic writing, improved my academic presentation skills and developed a critical mindset, which will be very useful for my future academic research.
The content of the course is very informative, the professors were friendly and there were many interactive sessions in the program courses. The highly interactive course format not only encouraged students to actively participate in the class, but also gave us great opportunities to exercise ourselves. Through the communication in the program, I overcame my timidity and improved my speaking English. Unlike our traditional lecture-based learning style, we can gain a deeper understanding of knowledge through this mode of learning. And the project tasks mainly took the form of teamwork, which gave me the opportunity to meet many excellent partners, and in the process of mutual communication and cooperation, I not only improved my teamwork awareness but also gained deep friendship. What’s more, The program's reasonable course schedule and useful learning platforms, such as Zoom, Trello, allowed me to schedule my studies in a reasonable manner, which greatly improved my learning efficiency. The scientific study plan and the supervision of the teaching assistants ensured that I could complete the tasks assigned by professors with high quality and develop good study habits.
All in all, it’s a meaningful project, and the improvement I got was comprehensive and far-reaching. I am very grateful for the financial support from the college for the opportunity to participate in this program. I will apply what I have learned in my future studies to expand my international perspective and improve my international competitiveness, so that I can live up to the training of my teachers and the college.
