I learnt a lot of relevant expertise from this online tutorial course, which was jointly run by the University and Oxford University. Each session explored a different aspect and area of social policy, such as gender inequality, racial segregation, economic development, etc. The scope of the course was very broad and diverse. I was able to gain a deeper understanding of the process of formulating and implementing social public policy.
Through this course, I have learnt that social policies are the basic guidelines or guidelines for action set by the state through legislative and administrative means. For example, population policy, labour and employment policy, social insurance policy, environmental protection policy, and so on. Its aim is to strengthen social security, improve social welfare, stabilise social order, harmonise the development of the various components of society and promote social progress. The aim of social policy is to set the basic direction for the development and establishment of social relations, to guarantee and further improve social stability and stability and, at its core, to address the social risks of citizens in a market economy. Social policy is not only a governmental act, but also a social act. The formulation and implementation of social policy must be rigorously considered and then implemented, beyond the daily life and well-being of everyone in society, and must stand the test of history and the people and keep pace with the times.
In addition to improving my understanding of social policy itself, the exchange course has improved my professional foreign language and professional essay writing to varying degrees. Through communication with the professors in each class and through research and discussion of my professional knowledge, my foreign language skills have improved greatly.
