I was pleasantly surprised to participate in this course and experience the interesting teaching methods and highly interactive atmosphere of the class with professors at Imperial College London, this course has benefited me a lot. In terms of knowledge and skills, I have learned the whole process from academic research to publication and the precautions of key links in foreigner academia. Moreover, in the guidance of professors, we explore how to make more accurate academic expression, how to better dialogue and interact with the audience in presentations and how to conduct critical reading, thinking and make arguments credible and organized. At the same time, I also broke through my fears and shyness in this course, and was able to express my doubts and thoughts more confidently in less fluent English with the tolerance of teachers and classmates.
In the long-term group work, I also met many diligent and studious partners, we listened, encouraged and collaborated with each other, completing many challenging tasks together. In this course, we expressed our own opinions on research problems, analyzed, compared, judged and reasoned with each other, learned from each other's strengths, and improved together. This process not only deepens our understanding of Fromm's theoretical perspectives such as personality alienation and post-structural feminism, but also expands our thinking on analyzing problems from different disciplinary perspectives.
These gains will become the cornerstone of my future scientific research journey, urging me to conduct academic research with a more rigorous and meticulous attitude and critical thinkin.
