I am very honored to participate in the project of "Jilin University - Cambridge University - Imperial College of Technology Academic Literacy Improvement Workshop". When I was admitted to the project, I estimated my harvest in this project: first, I want to communicate with professors and learn international critical reading, writing, thinking and presentation skills; Secondly, I hope I can exercise my reading and communication skills in English, master more professional vocabulary and exercise my team cooperation ability. I think these abilities can be improved to a certain extent in this project.

 

In order to better carry out this project, I also made some preparations: first, communicate with students who have participated in similar projects in advance and make corresponding preparations; Second, preview the reading materials for each class in advance and buy English books for reading (Oxford General Reader Series) to get familiar with professional English terms; Third, when we know that the project takes the form of team cooperation, we should communicate well in advance to activate the team atmosphere.

 

In the course of the project, the content of the teaching course is reasonable and highly accepted; In teaching, the combination of professors, lecturers, student presentations and course interaction is conducive to stimulating students' enthusiasm and initiative; The project has critical teaching on four aspects of scientific research: thinking, reading, writing and exhibition, which helps students grasp the course content as a whole; In addition, the course is organized in an orderly manner. Before the course, there is a special teacher to remind the course time. The professor's grasp of the course progress is also appropriate.

 

My achievements in this project are reflected in the following aspects: the most important thing is that I have gained an experience of teamwork. In this course, we are faced with two team presentations. In these projects, the team members worked together. I also learned the knowledge of PPT presentation and production from different students and other professional perspectives, and felt the necessity of multidisciplinary cooperation and communication again; At the same time, I have a new understanding and mastery of the display process and the preparation required for a long and short time display. I think this will be of great benefit to my future life and study; In addition, I also learned more professional vocabulary through the project, learned about the mode of international exchange and some problems, and broadened my horizons.

 

Finally, I would like to thank Professor Mark Perkins and Professor Helal Ahmed for their patient explanation and teaching, and Ms. Li Ke, the project partner, for her patient work and service for two months. I wish the teachers success in their work and look forward to seeing them again in more projects in the future!
