It is a great honour to be part of the Oxford University Mentoring Programme. The teaching objectives of the project course are clearly understood specific and easy to stimulate interest, guide independent inquiry, cooperation and communication, exercises designed to reflect the comprehensive application of knowledge, in a variety of forms, with the right amount of weight and difficulty, appropriate guidance on learning methods, very purposeful and able to enhance independent learning.

Through this course, I learned about some of the influential and prominent figures in social theory, covering the period of the 20th and early 21st centuries, in identifying the context of the theories and reflecting on their current development in social theory. At the same time, I have enhanced my ability to critically analyse theoretical texts, discussing the strengths and limitations of each perspective and their possible practical applications. I delve into theoretical schools including the Frankfurt School, gender, postcolonial thought, class, power, Foucault, postmodernity, and social constructivism to construct an initial blueprint of German social theory.

I develop critical thinking skills in this course, including the ability to think comparatively about different schools of sociology and to establish a dialogue between various sociological and theoretical texts. At the same time, I improved my oral and written English communication skills for future study life.

Finally, I would like to thank my university and the college for the opportunity to be part of this project and to experience a quality learning project experience. It was a valuable experience and I will definitely treasure it and use it in my future studies.
