On the first day when we arrived in Britain, we briefly visited Oxford, a city covered by the university of Oxford, under the guidance of the docking person of Oxford University. It was full of primitive atmosphere, which made me feel its long history. It was also on this day that I found out the difference between China and the UK on November 11. The UK regards it as a day to remember the brave soldiers who died in the war. But in China, this special day is a shopping day. This is a different comparison from my first visit to the UK.
After a short break, we started our official trip to Oxford the next day. We studied the history of England, the etiquette of England, and visited Oxford University systematically under the guidance of the school teachers. The day's journey gave me a better understanding of Oxford University and, it seems, of Britain. As a big country with a long history of 5,000 years, China has the same strict etiquette rules as Britain. But at the same time, I have seen that world-class universities do have their unique charm, which is something that China still needs to make efforts to improve.
We started a systematic study of philosophy courses. The whole class not only showed the difference of teaching methods between China and the west, but also showed the consistency of the purpose of knowledge pursuit between China and the west. No matter what kind of methods we used, we always hoped to explore new things in human history. English teachers prefer to adopt the method of question and answer, on the one hand, let students think for themselves, on the other hand, enlighten themselves through students' answers. This is exactly what China is doing to improve. In addition, in the course of their lectures, I also learned some new knowledge, which opened up my exploration of the unknown field of philosophy.
In the following two days, we visited London and Cambridge. During the whole visit, we saw not only a metropolis of Britain, but also Cambridge full of academic significance. As the most representative city of the UK, it shows the beauty of the UK. However, the beauty of the UK and the beauty of China are totally different from each other, but similar to each other. And the beauty of the British is a kind of elegant, gentleman into the bones of the British; It is evident in the different architectural styles, full of gothic cathedrals, streets and alleys, and exquisite and elegant pavilions, the beauty of China and Britain have their own characteristics.
This "oxforn-jilin university philosophy short-term course program" is a meaningful journey for me, and I have learned the local culture of Britain, including local customs, history and culture, etiquette and customs. At the same time, I received philosophy courses at Oxford University, which opened up a new field of study for me and also learned some new knowledge.
