Academic exchanges at Harvard University, USA (7)

From October 19th to October 26th, 2019, I went to Boston with the team of our school for a short-term academic exchange.

We participated in a number of academic activities, such as a discussion with Professor Victor Seow of Harvard University, a lecture at the Fairbank Center, and a meeting with the vice president of the Harvard-Yenching Institute. Through communicating with them, I learned about the status of academic research abroad, and got a lot of research inspiration.

We also visited a number of libraries in Boston, including public libraries and academic libraries at Harvard University. The design and collection of each library had its own merits, but they all brought me the infinite charm of knowledge. We also did some fieldwork in Boston’s Chinatown, especially the groups established by Chinese abroad were very interesting.

My personal research direction is non-profit organizations, and this time I also learned about the status of some US non-profit organizations. Although I had seen relevant information in books or papers before, the feeling at the scene was more intense and true. I have gained a lot in this exchange, and I have also clarified some future directions. I am very grateful for the opportunity offered by our school.
